The Newsboys have been my favorite band ever since the mid-90’s when I heard their Not Ashamed album a few years after it was released. I grew up in a home where if there was any kind of modern pop or rock music in the house, it was because it was most likely snuck in. I fell in love with the music right away and then around the same time I also got a chance to hear the Newsboys Going Public album. Again I was blown away. All of this was new to me.
Finally in December of 1996 I was given my first Newsboys album for Christmas that year. It was Take Me To Your Leader. An album that is held as one of the band’s best by their fans, it played countless times in my cd player.
Over the years the band’s style has changed and so have several members but the great melodies, hooks and songwriting have always remained and is what I still love about this band today. That’s why I am as excited for their new album Born Again, as I have been for so many of their other albums.
